Slow down, just for a moment, capture who we are...
That's what it is all about, really. The moment captured and preserved. What an honour, a priveledge, to be the one that brings that moment to life. Sometimes it's the pose, the light, the place, the smile - and I like that - but sometimes it's just a look. I look now at images of my son from years ago and I go immediately back to that place, that feeling, that moment. One of my favorite images is one that happened while testing a new flash. Just outside the studio door, in the parking lot. I was impatient, wanting only to put a face in front of the lens andhen hurry back to work. "Stand still...look at me...hurry, hurry...no, this way!...(did I mention I was impatient?)." And then I processed the images and saw a young face, so trusting, overlooking my impatience and just smiling at me like I was, well, a dad. A favorite shot. A humbling moment for me. A lesson learned and a new insight into the soul of an image. A moment of time.

I don't have a "pose #8" that I have to do.
